How to find the shape of molecule

We will find the shape of molecule by VSEPR theory...

To calculate  hybridisation we need a formula... =no of valence electron present in central atom +no of monovalent atom +-charge/2

For example... XeO2F2

In Xe  atom eight valence electron present in outermost shell.

Here, no of monovalent atom are =2

Here, oxygen is a divalnet atom. So we cannot add the no of oxygen.

In XeO2F2 molecule has no charge.

:put the value in the Formula= 8+2/2=5

5 means there is 5 orbitals participate in the shape of molecule.

One s, three p and  one d orbital ,it means there is sp3d hybridisation.

The geometry of the molevule is trigonal bi pyramidal.

But we know that there is 5 orbital participate in hybridisation but there is only 4 side atom which means there is a lone pair present.

:the shape of molecule is "

We also know that the lone pair occupy always equitorial position and more electronegative atom occupy axial position.
